Jessica Liew Manager
Client Relationship and Service

Jessica Liew serves as the Manager for the Client Relationship and Services team, a unique role for an accounting firm like Precursor. In this role, she leads a team responsible for creating awareness of the company, increase the customer base and ensuring all clients have a good experience with Precursor's various service offerings.

She has been in the company for over eight years now. Her career here has exposed her to various business areas, an experience that she admits is quite different from her previous role as an auditor. She has learned the various aspects of marketing and understood what entrepreneurs are looking out for.

"I enjoy that the company does not practice any form of "hierarchy". The boss's door is always open to discussing and sharing ideas; transparent and open communication. No one is too small in the company to matter; everyone plays an important role."

What do you think are your strongest traits?

My positive disposition and can-do attitude allow me to take on new challenges that are constantly happening in this company.

What do you like most about your job?

I enjoy speaking to clients and helping them to problem-solve. Adding on to the innovative culture of the company, I get to learn and explore new ways of doing things.

What is the best career lesson you've learned so far?

The best career lesson during my time at Precursor was learning to handle difficult situations with clients. At the end of the day, I realise that we are working together to achieve the same results even though the way to get that might be different for all .

What do you like to do when you are not working?

As a new mom, a lot of my free time is spent on my family; doing activities from cycling to swimming is a regular occurrence.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren't doing this?

I enjoy facing people and problem solving; that is the reason why I have chosen this role. However, if given a chance, I would like to become a social worker and give back to society.

What is your usual source of inspiration when you tackle a difficult problem ahead?

Books are my biggest source of inspiration. Reading really helps to give an additional perspective of things.

What's a fun fact about you that many people may not know?

I am a foodie. I live to eat!

If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why ?

I want to meet Oprah Winfrey. Her presence, strength, and empathy are role models for women. Very inspirational for any woman.

Three words to best describe you.

Amiable, flexible, and loyal.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

I guess I would like to be a mind reader since the human relationship is the key to everything or even having the powers of Scarlet Witch. :)

What is something that you could have told your younger self if you had the chance?

Perhaps to learn constantly, take on new hobbies and be more open to new things.

What is your personal philosophy? Or a motto in life or career that you follow close to your heart?

Be kind - To others and yourself; You never know what battles everyone is facing.
